Process for a Bathymetric LiDAR Survey by drone in Corsica.
HELIX recently received the very first bathymetric LiDAR unit in France that can be carried by a lightweight drone.
On this occasion, we captured images of the first takeoff and the initial bathymetric data collected.
Conclusion
We are very pleased with these initial tests.
The maximum depth recorded suggests very promising future surveys. Meanwhile, we also conducted tests on the system's accuracy (currently only in the partially submerged state) and are very confident about what comes next. Future tests will also allow us to verify the reliability of the bathymetric data, which the manufacturer claims is below 5 cm.
